Love and Poundage

Why is it that you could easily slip into that wedding dress or handsome tux when you exchanged vows, but now the idea of wearing those sizes again seems as distant as Mars? Blame your spouse.
Studies have found that men and women who live together tend to gain weight together. There are at least a couple (no pun intended) of reasons why married couples seem to put on excess weight. First, married people usually eat together, and they may eat more that way then when eating alone. And the guilt-ridden second answer: A married person may be less motivated to stay thin. Getting comfortable in a stable relationship is good, but it may come with a reduced commitment to keeping weight under control — hence the celebrated phrase “letting yourself go.” Continue reading “Love and Poundage”
