What is Reliv? Good question. Opening night of the 2015 International Conference focused on providing an answer, a strong statement of who and what we are. Here we’ve outlined the main points from that evening’s presentation. As you’ll see, the real question is not “What is Reliv?” but rather “What can Reliv do for YOU?” Continue reading “What is Reliv?”

The world has changed a lot in 25+ years, but the basics of building a Reliv business remain the same — reach out to new people and help them succeed. Yet as we move forward, we must continue to grow, adapt and improve. Here are some suggestions to help you do exactly that:
Engage! You are bombarded with distractions every day. That’s why it’s important to seek out the information you actually want. So engage with Reliv on social media, subscribe to the blog, read every email, watch our Engage! webinars… and have your downline follow your lead. Treat your business like a business and stay informed.
Focus/Simplify. What you focus on will grow. Distributors embracing the LunaRich® Super Pack know the power of focus. The Super Pack simplifies how to both start on the products and launch a Reliv business. The result: increased speed and organizational growth.
Strike a balance. Reliv offers incredible products and a remarkable opportunity. Successful Distributors know how to strike a balance between the two. We’ve focused a lot on products with the acquisition of LunaRich, and rightly so. But it is knowing there is money to be made and lifestyles improved with Reliv that has always driven our biggest expansion.
Expand your image of wellness. Our products are for everyone — young and old, sick and healthy, athlete and beginner. Seek out a range of stories that different types of people can relate to and appeal to everyone when sharing Reliv.
Innovate. We strive to innovate at Reliv, and I encourage you to do the same. Try new things, keep the ones that work and throw out the ones that don’t. When you stop learning, you stop growing.
Reliv is positioned for the future. But if we want more, we have to become more. We must challenge ourselves to be opportunistic, creative and innovative. We’re committed to making it happen at Reliv HQ. How about you?

If you’ve been around Reliv, chances are you’ve probably heard my Reliv health story. I was nine years old when Dr. Theodore Kalogris started sending his original formula to our family. There was no can or label, and yes, the powder didn’t dissolve well and usually rested in large clumps at the bottom of my morning OJ. But my parents believed in Dr. Ted and the need for optimal nutrition.
I can honestly say I might have missed my Reliv shakes less than a handful of days over the past 31 years. I don’t know what life would be like without Reliv nutrition. I take almost every product Dr. Carl Hastings has developed. A Reliv shake is the first thing I do in the morning, and last thing I do every night. August is National Golf Month, and Reliv professionals have lessons to share from their time on the course. Their advice translates beautifully from the game into entrepreneurship and life.
Ryan Montgomery, President
Golf can be a roller coaster. One day can be your career best, and the next day it all falls apart. I’ve learned to keep my confidence from the game of golf. The key is to remember the good shots and forget the bad.
Patience and a positive attitude are better for your game, and also more enjoyable for those playing in your group. This translates to business when you’re in a situation that requires persistence and an optimistic outlook.
Don’t try to do too many things with your golf swing. It’s easy to get too many swing thoughts going on at once when standing above the ball. Find what works for you, on an off the course, and repeat that behavior. Keep it simple.
Chris Scherting, Director of Marketing
As an inexperienced beginner, golf has taught me patience and humility. You have to swallow your pride and set your own small goals for improvement. I get excited when I don’t lose a ball on a hole or if the ball simply gets a little lift! These small victories keep me going.
The golf swing and hand position is strange and awkward at first. It requires a lot of practice. The tough thing while practicing alone is that you have no idea what you are doing wrong or what adjustment to make. I have participated in several golf camps and private lessons where I was able to learn from a more experienced golfer. It’s amazing how a minor adjustment can make a major improvement in the direction or distance of the ball. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help and wisdom from someone who has been playing longer than you, and be flexible enough to try a new technique if your current one isn’t working.
Kurt Wulff, Vice President of Marketing
Focus on what is important: It gets increasingly difficult to stay in touch with certain friends and family as I get older. Our lives never seem to slow down. Golf has made it possible for me to spend time with certain friends and family members I wouldn’t see on a regular basis if not for our tee time. It has taught me the importance of putting time and effort into relationships with those I care about.
Learn the importance of consistent practice: When it comes to golf, the best way to practice is to identify the fundamentals of a good swing and then practice them over and over again. Even the world’s top professionals practice constantly and make adjustments as needed along the way. No matter how good your swing is, you will see a decline in performance without consistent practice.
Seek coaching and expert advice: It is often impossible to know what you are doing wrong without someone who is better than you, and more experienced, reviewing your swing and identifying issues only they can see as a trained observer. Leverage their expertise to your advantage and your game will improve dramatically.
From Reliv President Ryan Montgomery
It can be hard to be healthy. Every day we are bombarded with unhealthy food options — from the burger joint drive-thru to the processed junk in the grocery store aisles. We know what we’re supposed eat, but that’s easier said than done. And we’re certainly not getting much help from the major food companies. Continue reading “Reliv’s Super Opportunity”
As an entrepreneur, I understand the need to innovate. My 20+ years in the nutrition industry have taught me that market leaders must innovate or be consumed by the global marketplace. I’ve also learned that innovation is not the result of chance; it is the result of action.
Creating an Innovation Engine
In 2001 I partnered with Dr. Alfredo Galvez to expand his work with the lunasin peptide he discovered in 1996. In 2005 I founded Soy Labs, LLC and assembled a team which included Dr. Galvez to focus on commercializing lunasin-based ingredients. Collaboration is key to long-term business success, so I sought out business and research partners that allowed Soy Labs to leverage creativity, experience and resources and innovate more quickly.
Adopting the open innovation model allowed Soy Labs to draw on the knowledge of outside researchers and move forward with lunasin technology. This access to external resources inspired us to partner with the University of Missouri, the state of Missouri and federal government to create the Missouri Plant Science Center in 2010. The MPSC was a critical component to further our research, refine our processes and firmly establish Soy Labs as an “innovation engine.” Continue reading “The Perfect Opportunity”
