Reliv Marketing 101

What is “marketing” for Reliv?
I have always believed that one of the most undersold benefits of becoming a Reliv Distributor is the corporate support you receive from departments around the company to help you achieve success.

I have had the good fortune to work in one of those departments for over 14 years.  Our dedicated marketing team is made up of a variety of disciplines, with a wide range of expertise and talents.  Writers, project managers and coordinators, video producers, graphic designers, web programmers — who begin every project with one question:  How can we best support our Distributors?  

The Reliv website, web tools, social media, publications like the popular Lifestyle magazine, promotional flyers, brochures, catalogs, audios, videos, product labels and the content for special events are examples of our efforts.  While the media and tactics may vary with each project or tool, our commitment to build Reliv together with our Distributors remains constant.

Ultimately, that’s the most important thing we can do and what defines “marketing” for Reliv.  As we turn 25, the work we are doing is more exciting than ever!

Coming in Orlando…
This summer, we will have a celebration to match this milestone with the Reliv 25 International Conference in Orlando.  If you are a current Reliv leader or business builder, or aspire to be one, there is no better place to be in July.  The marketing team is beginning to meet with our partners in the sales department and the ideas are flying!  Even better, the latest news is that there might be a brand new marketing tool introduced at conference  (but you didn’t hear it from me).

In future posts, I will do my best to keep you updated on what is new and coming down the road from your marketing department.  For now, rest assured it is going to be an unforgettable conference and we are currently planning many other major projects that will continue to make everything you do simpler and faster.  You won’t believe what we have in store for the rest of our 25th year!

Reliv Wins 2011 Bronze Quill Awards

bronzequill Reliv earned two Bronze Quill Awards for the Reliv Distributor Business Kit and Fast Start Guide in the 2011 IABC St. Louis Bronze Quill Awards.

The Distributor Business Kit and Fast Start Guide were redesigned in 2010 to provide new Distributors with materials to quickly establish their Reliv businesses. The kit contains a clear, fear-busting plan to ensure Distributor success.

“The tools we have designed continue to help Independent Reliv Distributors to grow their businesses. These awards serve as validation that the marketing materials available to Distributors are top-notch, which continues to be our goal,” said Vice President of Marketing Kurt Wulff.

IABC St. Louis is a local chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, a professional network of about 15,000 business communication professionals in over 80 countries. The Bronze Quill Awards celebrate professionals who executed marketing, communications or public relations projects that help drive excellence. Judged by other IABC chapters around the nation, a Bronze Quill is one of the most prestigious awards a communicator, designer or marketing strategist can earn.

The Distributor Business Kit and Fast Start Guide won in two categories: Internal Publication Design (Award of Excellence) and Employee/Member Communication (Award of Merit).

Reliv VP of Operations Earns St. Louis Business Honor

Debra The St. Louis Business Journal named Debra Hellweg, our vice president of operations, to its “40 under 40” list for 2011. The list honors St. Louisans younger than age 40 for their career achievements and community service.

Debra has had a big impact with Reliv, of course. She created our internal auditing department five years ago. For her work in internal audit, she became knowledgeable about a wide variety of departments within both U.S. and international office. That is a key reason that Reliv turned to her when we needed a new person to head operations.

Prior to coming to Reliv, Debra was internal audit manager at Deloitte & Touche and vice president and auditor of Southwest Bank of St. Louis.

On the community service side, Debra was instrumental in launching our annual Week of Caring two years ago. That program has provided much-welcomed help to a number of local community organizations and has been widely popular among employees. Debra also is a volunteer for the Humane Society of Missouri.
