How To Set Goals For 2020

NewYearsResolutions

Goal setting is a common theme for this time of year. As one year ends, another begins with the promise of a fresh start and clean slate. There is no better time than now to reflect on what worked this year, what didn’t, and what your biggest opportunities for growth are in your business. Before we go any further, I want you to grab a piece of paper and a pen. This is a quick activity to help you refocus and set your goals for 2020.

Let’s begin.

Fold your paper into three columns and write the following headings over each column:

What did I do well in 2019?
What am I proud of?

What could I have done better?

What will I change for 2020?
S.M.A.R.T. Goals

First, determine if you want to focus on your business, fitness, personal, or other goals in this moment. I encourage you to try this for different aspects of your life as time goes on. Take five minutes and think about these questions. You can always come back to them if you have a lightbulb moment in the shower or right before you fall asleep. That always happens to me!

Write down what you think you did really well this year. For example, did you earn a higher level? Did you grow your organization? Did you increase your check? Did you get more customers or a new MA? Did you attend Reliv events? Did you take your business in a new direction?

Then, write down what you could have done better. Could you have reached out to a few more people each week? Could you have attended Reliv Live? Could you have built up your social media presence? Could you have followed up more with prospects and customers? Did you take advantage of all of Reliv Corporate’s resources? Whatever it is, there is no judgment—only personal growth opportunities!

The third column is my favorite. It’s time to focus on the new you that you will build up over the next year. Write down a few things that come to mind immediately when you see the question. What will you change for 2020? Set S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself.

S.M.A.R.T. goals consist of the following:

Specific: State exactly what you want to do with specific action words. For example, “Earn the Hawaii Trip.”

Measurable: Provide a way to evaluate your goal status. For example, “Use the Aloha Hawaii point tracking sheet.”

Achievable: Make your goal possible and realistic! For example, “Get two Master Affiliates every month” NOT “Earn 100 points this month.”

Relevant: Does it make sense to your business or personal life? For example, “The Aloha Hawaii Promotion will build my business.”

Time-Bound: Give yourself a deadline. For example, “I have until July 2020 to earn all my points for Hawaii, but I want to be done by June!”

S.M.A.R.T. goals are the best way to set goals for yourself. Always write them down and look at them once a week or so. You want to be continuously working toward your goals to make your year the best one yet! Do this activity as many times as you want and share it with someone else you think will benefit from it. This can be used for your fitness goals, business goals, social media goals and more. In fact, I encourage you to set goals for each of these! What will you do to make 2020 the best year yet?

Learning to Dream Again with Reliv

By Reliv Key Director Macaria Perez

I used to be a house cleaner, which was very tough work, especially as a single mother raising three children. While this job allowed me to provide for my family’s basic needs, I was looking for something more out of life. After years of scrubbing and doing physically demanding work, my body was tired and I had aches and pains, along with some other health issues. When my doctor saw my family’s health history, he said that my issues were to be expected.

My Introduction to Reliv

I was feeling frustrated with my job and health, until one day, someone introduced me to Reliv. I decided to give it a try, and the very first day I felt such optimism. The overall health benefits of these products have been great for me. Eventually, I met Rita Montenegro, a Reliv Silver Ambassador, who was in my upline. She offered me guidance and encouragement, and I am very grateful to her!

Making Progress

After several months of drinking Reliv shakes, my doctor congratulated me because all my markers were back to normal! I knew that losing weight would help many of the things that were causing me trouble as well, and so I started with the Fit3 program and lost about 40 pounds* with the Fit3 program and experienced a new level of health!

People noticed the change in me and wanted to know what I was doing. This made it very easy for me to tell others about Reliv. I feel very grateful and haven’t stopped sharing the benefits of optimal nutrition with everyone I meet!

Serious Business

After my first three months with Reliv, I decided to qualify for the Master Affiliate level. I was committed to work along with my upline and share Reliv with as many people as possible. By sharing about Reliv, I met more and more new people and my business started to grow! It’s so wonderful to help other people with their challenges. By working on the promotions, I started to see extra rewards.

Learning to Dream Again

Before Reliv, I was so tired that I didn’t have time to dream or plan my future. I was like a robot, I forgot the hope and goals of the American dream, but last year I earned a trip to Puerto Vallarta! I am very happy because I brought my daughter with me, and even got a cash bonus!

As soon as the Hawaii trip was announced, I made the decision to get to work. With effort and dedication, I qualified for the trip along with the very first winners, way before the contest ended. I am very excited because I am traveling to Hawaii this week for the first time! My upline earned the trip as well, so we’ll be able to enjoy this experience together. Starting this month, I have a new Master Affiliate!

At this point, you might be wondering how you can achieve this kind of success as well. What does it take to earn bonuses and trips with Reliv? Here is my advice:

  1. Learn to use the products consistently to improve your quality of life. I feel better than I have in years, and I can enjoy my life!
  2. Share the Reliv opportunity with others so they can experience the same benefits.

So what are you waiting for? Make the commitment to your Reliv business, do the work and you’ll go far—maybe even around the world!

*Results vary based on starting point and effort. Results achieved with Reliv’s Fit3 fitness program.

The Power of Consistency

By Reliv Chief Executive Officer Ryan A. Montgomery

The first commonality among winners, whether it be in business, sports or just life, is the consistency of effort. Hawaii winners were “consistent.” Fit3 Champions are “consistent.”

On the September Ambassador call, Hawaii winners Diane Helmold and Cindy Lunz shared how they approached the trip promotion. First, they “decided” they were going to win the trip and make it an anniversary celebration with their spouses. Next, they committed to a few hours of productive activity each day to reach new people and earn points each month during the 9-month contest.

Getting fit and losing weight is not a sprint. Crash diets and short-lived 5 am workouts don’t work in the long term because they’re not sustainable for most people. Getting fit happens with consistent daily decisions. Fit3 requires intentional choices to eat smart, move more and take Reliv nutrition. That’s the daily commitment Fit3 Champions like Tami Martineau made—one day at a time. It’s about striving for progress every day, even if slight.

Jim Rohn says “success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day.” Tom Pinnock talks about how successful people do 3-4 high payoff activities (ICSAR) consistently every day. Consistency is adhering to the same fundamentals that move you toward a worthwhile goal. Everything worth achieving will have resistance to overcome, but we chip away until we reach the goal. Without consistency, nothing ever gets finished.

Our Reliv business is made up of “independent” distributors. We often refer to the organization as a “volunteer army.” Distributors decide what to do, when to do it, and how much. Sometimes, “independence” can lead to “inconsistency” with the fundamentals of building a business. Treat your business like a business by developing a mindset that you work for yourself. Consistent and undeviating commitment to simple disciplines every day is the key. Leadership starts with first leading yourself to consistently do the things it takes to be productive. Only then will people follow and do what you say and do.

Keep your word to yourself! There will always be reasons to stop or quit, but successful people find ways to get through the excuses and challenges. Get up every day, go answer the bell inside you, and go tackle the challenges, go grow, go walk the walk and most importantly—go lead, and go do it and keep doing it. Leaders are reliable and steady, and that’s means being consistent with your attitude, work ethic and effort.

Determine your goals, then go be relentless with consistency and stick-to-itiveness!

Opportunity of a Lifetime

In September, I met with the owner of the martial arts school my son, Curt, had attended. I lost Curt in an accident last spring at age 22, and was exploring the possibility of setting up a scholarship fund in his memory. The school teaches so much more than self-defense — students receive life skills and learn how to set and achieve personal goals. The school made a huge difference for Curt, who benefited from positive male role models and built his self-esteem.

After the accident, [President of Reliv Asia-Pacific] Scott Montgomery called and asked if there was anything Reliv could do for me. I answered that Reliv had already done everything. You see, starting a Reliv business allowed me to stay home with Curt and spend every moment possible with my son as he grew up. There could be no greater gift.

At the martial arts school, we agreed that $1,500 would be a good place to start for the scholarship fund. That night Reliv announced August’s Top Ten Bonus earners on the Monday Night Call. I had finished 8th in the nation and earned a bonus of, you guessed it, $1,500! Building my Reliv business will allow me to continue to fund the scholarship so that others can benefit the way Curt did. Some things happen for a reason.

A new horizon: We dreamed of starting our own business. We considered opening a restaurant, but knew that would not give us the freedom we craved.

Our solution: We decided Reliv was the answer: home-based, minimum investment, guaranteed quality products, company support and help available from our upline. Plus, we could work our business together. We started as Master Affiliates, got trained, learned the business model and established our goals.

Fast learners: We committed to working one year and then reviewing our results. In our first month we shared the LunaRich® Super Packs and many of our friends signed up. We quickly recouped our investment and had our own free product from the MA Super Pack. We have already reached the Key Director level and with it a $500 check, plus a $1,000 Rookie Bonus! Reliv even took us to Quebec City! We have found our future.

It’s All About New People

Distributors Barb Verbonich and Quila Buhler came into our pizza shop one day and told us about Reliv nutrition. Vickie had some health issues, including hair loss, so we decided to give Reliv a try. After being on the products for several months, her hairdresser of 30 years noticed that her hair was starting to thicken! I decided to try the products to see if they could help my bad back. Thanks to Reliv Now and LunaRich X, I now jump right out of bed every morning.

Action Brings Success
When I shared the products with friends, they got great results and signed up too. In February I worked with Barb and Quila and got serious about my business, traveling all over Central California to share my Reliv story. I focused on helping my downline find new people. We started giving presentations using the LunaRich Super Pack and the videos from Reliv corporate and reached the Key Director level in May.

Your business grows fastest when you find new people and help your downline do the same. My advice? When you invite someone to a meeting, offer to go and pick them up. It guarantees that they’ll show up and stay for the entire presentation when you’re their ride home!

Rookie on a Roll: Ofelia Romero

I was looking for a nutritional approach to help with my high blood pressure, high cholesterol and joint pain and tried lots of herbs and natural remedies without success. Then I talked to a friend who was getting great results with Reliv’s LunaRich®.

I started on one scoop of Reliv Now® and a LunaRich X™ capsule before bed. Two months later my numbers are much improved. I’m back in a normal range for blood pressure and cholesterol and couldn’t be happier. I added in Arthaffect®, and my joints feel great! Reliv has become my forever regimen.

Building a Super Business
As soon as I became a Distributor, I got right to work. It’s important to share Reliv from your heart, so I tell new people about my own results. I started inviting people to the meetings and my business took off from there.

The LunaRich Super Pack makes it even easier to share Reliv. I bring Super Packs with me to get people started on the products. Moving Super Packs accelerated my business and helped me earn a first place Rookie Bonus in May of $1,000!
