24K Wins People’s Choice Award!

Stevie Awards 24K Wins People’s Choice Award At 2011 American Business Awards

Reliv International, Inc.’s healthy energy shot, 24K, won a Stevie Award as the “Favorite New Consumer Product” at the 2011 American Business Awards last night.

Reliv’s 24K won the People’s Choice Award by polling more online votes than innovative products made by Logitech, Rosetta Stone and other companies.

Dr. Carl W. Hastings, Reliv’s chief scientific officer and creator of 24K, said, “It is a great thrill to be chosen as the top new consumer product by people across the country. I want to thank the voters as well as everyone at Reliv who worked so hard to bring 24K to market.”

The awards were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The ceremonies were hosted by Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network and broadcast nationwide on radio by the Business TalkRadio Network.

More than 140,000 people voted for the People’s Choice category. Other People’s Choice winners included Apple and Motorola.

Reliv developed 24K because it saw a lack of healthy options in the energy shot category. The product, named because of its 24 active ingredients, contains no caffeine and only five calories. 24K is designed to boost energy, improve mental focus and reduce stress.

Share YOUR “Kudos” with Reliv.

Do you have Kudos to give? Are you deserving of some Kudos? Outside of our normal monthly recognition, it is important to celebrate the accomplishments throughout your Reliv journey, whatever that means to each individual business builder.  Send your “Kudos” tidbit to ahaarmann@relivinc.com and we will post it on the blog.

To get you started, here is a kudos entry submitted to Steve Hastings via email:

“I did it.  Reached Sr. Director again.  The extra 48 hours were what helped me reach the goal. Friday afternoon I was less than one MA away from $2500, but my sister had just got into town so we could celebrate Christmas.  I was so busy that I did not read my emails.  Friday evening Julie Hostetler called and told me about the 48 hour extension.  Wow, was I happy!  When my sister left on Sunday afternoon, I started working to find the last MA.  After 10 pm last night, I faxed in the order.” ~Kecia Holder

Kudos and congrats, Kecia!

Reliv VP of Operations Earns St. Louis Business Honor

Debra The St. Louis Business Journal named Debra Hellweg, our vice president of operations, to its “40 under 40” list for 2011. The list honors St. Louisans younger than age 40 for their career achievements and community service.

Debra has had a big impact with Reliv, of course. She created our internal auditing department five years ago. For her work in internal audit, she became knowledgeable about a wide variety of departments within both U.S. and international office. That is a key reason that Reliv turned to her when we needed a new person to head operations.

Prior to coming to Reliv, Debra was internal audit manager at Deloitte & Touche and vice president and auditor of Southwest Bank of St. Louis.

On the community service side, Debra was instrumental in launching our annual Week of Caring two years ago. That program has provided much-welcomed help to a number of local community organizations and has been widely popular among employees. Debra also is a volunteer for the Humane Society of Missouri.

Join us in congratulating Debra for this honor!

Reliv International Athlete Greg James Wins Gold Medal at Miami Jiu-Jitsu Competition

Reliv International-sponsored athlete Greg James recently won a Gold Medal at the Miami International Open jiu-jitsu championship in Miami, Fla.

This represents James’ first Gold Medal of the year after having won two Silver Medals in previous tournaments this year.

James won his medal in the Brown Belt Senior Heavyweight Division, which is the 93 kilogram class (approximately 205 pounds). James lives and trains in Omaha along with a group of competitors who went to Miami under the Team Reliv banner.

Ryan Montgomery, Reliv’s executive vice president, worldwide sales, said, “Greg has set a goal of competing on the U.S. Olympic jiu-jitsu team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, and this medal gets him one step closer. He’s a world-class athlete and we couldn’t be prouder that he relies on Reliv products as a key part of his training regimen.”

James is a retired U.S. Navy Petty Officer who has served in three wars.  He was injured in Iraq in 2003. Currently, he teaches martial arts to members of the Air Force, Marines and Navy, as well as to various law enforcement officials around the United States.  James holds Black Belts in karate, kung-fu and jiu-jitsu.

Reliv Wins Gold MarCom Award for Video

“The Four Pillars of Reliv” video earned a 2010 Gold MarCom Award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement in marketing and communication. This was the first year Reliv entered the MarCom award contest.

The four pillars of Reliv are Company; Products; Opportunity; and Mission. The four portions of the video can be seen separately on our website or all on a single DVD.

About the MarCom Awards:

MarCom Award winners range from Fortune 500 companies to international public relations agencies to local ad clubs to individual communicators and marketers.

The Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals received approximately 5,000 entries in 200 different categories. This year approximately 18 percent won Gold awards. In addition to Gold Awards, judges also award Platinum and Honorable Mention awards.

Marcom statuettes weigh about three pounds and stand 13 inches tall. They are designed by the same artisans that craft the Oscar and Emmy Awards. Money raised by the competition is used to provide marketing materials for homeless shelters, orphanages, art centers, childcare and programs for the elderly and disabled among other organizations.

About the Four Pillars:

The videos can be accessed through the home page at reliv.com and on Relìv’s personal websites, and also are available for purchase on DVD.

“The videos are absolutely fabulous —masterpiece tools that enable Distributors to share the whole Relìv story in a very contemporary, state-of-the-art, professional manner and reach the growing media-savvy market,” Bronze Ambassador Chris Toriello states. “And having separate ‘mini videos’ that address each of Relìv’s four pillars — the Company, Products, Opportunity and Mission, plus the Comp Plan — allows us to easily tailor our presentations according to the interest of our individual prospects, making it faster and easier to reach new levels in Relìv!”

Presidential Bronze Ambassador Mary Light says, “I contact a lot of people who’ve previously been ‘on the fence’ with Relìv, and I present the video to every new customer and prospect who wants to know more about the products or opportunity. I drive traffic to my Relìv personal website, where the videos are prominently displayed, and I keep a copy of the DVD in my purse to hand out to people I meet while out and about in our community.”

For more great ideas on how to use the presentation videos, download the Presentation Videos How-To Guide now available on the “Bonus Materials” page under the “Handouts” tab at Relìv University.

Reliv Earns Communitas Award for Community Service and Corporate Social Responsibility

Comm Award Reliv International and the Reliv Kalogris Foundation have won 2010 Communitas Awards for excellence in community service and corporate social responsibility.

Reliv International won for its “Week of Caring” project in the company-sponsored volunteer project category. Held during National Volunteer Week in April, groups of Reliv employees took part in community service projects at five St. Louis area non-profit organizations, volunteering their time but also money and critical supplies.

The Reliv Kalogris Foundation, the company’s charitable arm, won in the philanthropy category for the building of its second feeding center/school/community center in Bois Lance de Limonade, Haiti. The center is one of more than two dozen feeding centers that provide free nutritional supplements to thousands of Haitians every day. Last Day at Conference- AM Post

Today is the last day at 2010 International Conference (and the first day of your newly RECHARGED Reliv business!) We had a fantastic start to the day, with everyone gathering downtown for the annual Reliv Kalogris Foundation Walk for the Mission. Congrats to all of our Bronze Sneaker Award winners: New Jersey, Kansas City, St. Louis, Detroit, North and South Carolina, Canada! Even in the humid St. Louis heat, our Distributors were pumped up enough to finish the walk and start an impromptu dance party! You can catch the highlight video here. The event raised $50,000 for the Reliv Kalogris Foundation! Thanks for your support!

Then, everyone headed lack to the air conditioned comfort of the Convention Center for the morning sessions. New Ambassadors were recognized and Don Gibbons interviewed a few members of the President’s Team to find out how they built their businesses. Then, Reliv announced that the 2011 Leadership Celebration will be held in Los Cabos, Mexico! The crowd went crazy when they saw photos of the trip of their dreams.  Learn more on the Distributor Portal.

We are on a lunch break right now, but there is so much more to come this afternoon. Be sure to check back for another update later!

The Tastiest Contest Ever

Reliv’s first-ever Relivables Recipe Contest was a huge hit! In case you missed it, here’s what happened. In June, we asked our Distributors and Facebook fans to send us their most creative recipes using one or more Relivables food ingredients. We knew we could count on their creativity for some interesting and tasty ideas!

Then, we narrowed the field to 5 finalists, held a blind taste test at Reliv headquarters, and voted. Here’s the results:

Rita Taylor’s Relivables Dessert Squares and Cindy Nutter-Landon’s Relivables Cheesecake tied for first place!

The other finalists included: Fanny Kinsinger’s Relivables Frosting, Marcia Speicher’s Relivables Muesli, and Roseanne Henrickson’s Relivables Banana Bars.

While all of the recipes were delicious, the clear winners were Rita and Cindy. Here’s a video of the taste test:

Kudos to everyone who submitted a recipe. You can view all of the recipes submitted by clicking here. Congratulations to the finalists, who proved that Relivables deserve a place in every kitchen. To recognize their efforts, each finalist received a Relivables t-shirt, Relivables Sweetener Shaker Jar and a handy Relivables Tote Bag. Everything was so delicious, we are considering making this a scrumptious weekly event — or maybe we just want an excuse to have another taste test! Yummy!
