Reliv Celebrates National Reading Month: Ryan Montgomery

RyanBooks-webReliv President Ryan Montgomery is a book lover and cherishes his collection of inspired writing. One glimpse at his desk and you know he’s well read. In celebration of National Reading Month, Ryan shares some of his favorites.

“Most of the books in my office were given to me by Reliv Distributors,” Ryan says. “Each of them have been encouraged by these books and they’ve been gracious enough to share what inspires them with me.”

Ryan’s 3 picks for National Reading Month are:

1. Don’t Give Up … Don’t Ever Give Up: The Inspiration of Coach Jimmy V by Justin and Robyn Spitzman.

“This book was given to me by Reliv Hall of Fame member Phil Wolf,” Ryan says. “It all started with NC State Coach Jimmy V who won a national championship. A year before he gave his landmark speech he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, but he didn’t let it get him down. He reminds us to focus on that you want out of life and to make every day meaningful.”

2. Onward by Howard Schultz

“Presidential Gold Ambassador George Blevins gave me this book, Ryan says. “It’s the story Starbucks and how they got back to the basics of business by reaching out to their target audience. Schultz understood the importance of staying innovative and remaining true to your core values.”

3. What Got You Here Won’t Get You There by Marshall Goldsmith

Jim Schaben, a Reliv Double Platinum Ambassador, shared this book with me,” Ryan says. “I’m very interested in staying innovative and this book reminds us all that in business you’ve got to stay curious and creative to stay relevant. There’s a competitive advantage waiting to be discovered.”

  1. The first book I read when I started my business with Reliv was “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon. Hill. I also like and go back to quite often “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. This man had timeless wisdom.
Another book I really like and pick up frequently is “177 Mental Toughness Secrets of the World Class” by Steve Siebold. Great words of vision and encouragement for entrepreneurs.

  2. Success is not an accident by Tommy Newberry

Success truly is a choice but what other options are there… failure? Anyone can have the life of their dreams if they choose the right attitude and are willing to work harder for themselves than they do for other people. Why should you help an employer build his dream when you could be building your own! STAY INSPIRED!

  3. John C Maxwell’s “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” is my most recent book read to improve my business footprint. I thank Presidential Silver Ambassador Denise Williams for going through that with us at recent trainings.

  4. I have read many books on leadership; my personal favorite is from our very own Tom Pinnock, ‘You Can Be Rich by Thursday.” I love his style of writing. I love the quotes he chose. I love his vision.
I am currently reading a mammoth book by Anthony Robbins, “Awaken the Giant Within.”
I have loved every chapter so far (only half way through it!). I have been able to apply MUCH of his vision to my daily life. It is a fabulous book.
I also love all of the Jon Gordon books on positive energy. “Training Camp” and “Energy Bus” were great.
Brian Tracy is a master at motivation and creating the life YOU desire. I love “Maximum Achievement.”
I also LOVE Eric Worre’s “Go Pro,” which is all about the steps to becoming a network marketing professional. Eric has interviewed hundreds of high-end earners and he put all that info together in this book. I highly recommend this to any new person entering network marketing.

  5. I just received a copy of the book superpower. How to think, act, and perform with less effort and better results. Written by Ford Saeks.

It helps me understand the things we have been learning all the time we have been in Reliv.
