After working a combined total of 45 years as managers for the same corporation, Debbie and Tom McGilligan thought their future was secure – until they both were downsized.
“I went first, then Tom,” Debbie says. “And for two years, we lived off our retirement income while we explored business opportunities.
“I knew I didn’t want to go back to the corporate rat race,” she continues. “And I wanted something I could do and still be home with my daughter.”
